Australian Shepherds are extremely smart dogs. They are some of the best dogs to train because of their intelligence. Aussies do very well in obedience classes and usually enjoy them as well. Once they are trained, Aussies are very well behaved dogs.
Australian Shepherds are high energy dogs. They were bred to be working dogs so this makes their energy supply abundant. They love to run, play, hike, and do almost anything that allows them to exert their energy. Although, personally some of my Aussies tend to be couch potatoes.
Aussies are also more of a timid breed. They can be wary of strangers, but are not aggressive towards them. They get along with other dogs and are loving and affectionate towards both dogs and humans.
Australian Shepherds do not require an abundance of care when it comes to grooming, but during the shedding seasons it is important to give them good a good brushing to get rid of their undercoats.
I recommend feeding them the Life's Abundance food and vitamins to ensure they are getting enough nutrients. I feed my dogs and puppies this and offer an extended health guarantee if you feed Life's Abundance for 2 years.
My puppies will have up to date worming and shots. It is your responsibility to get a puppy well check within 3 business days of pick up date. I suggest you schedule your appointment with your vet ahead of time. It is also your responsibility to continue getting their shots. They will need shots every 2-3 weeks until they are 16 weeks old.
